Privacy Policy
Effective March 2026 · Last updated April 2026
OnTheBeam is built for people in one of the most private moments of their lives. This document explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and who can see it. We’ve written it in plain language on purpose.
Who we are
OnTheBeam is operated by Core Values Recovery LLC (“we,” “us,” “our”). We provide coaching software used by recovery professionals and their clients. This policy covers data collected through our mobile and web applications.
What we collect
Account information
- Name, email address, and password (for authentication)
- Phone number if you received an SMS invitation
Conversation data
- Messages between you and your AI coaching companion
- Messages between you and your human coach
- Daily check-in responses — mood, sleep, cravings, notes
Curriculum data
- Worksheet responses and completion status
- Module progress
Meeting & location data
- Meeting names, dates, and attendance status
- GPS coordinates only during a voluntary meeting check-in you initiate and authorize
- We do not track your location in the background, ever.
Device information
- Push notification token (for message delivery)
- Device type and operating system (for app compatibility)
How we use it
- Coaching. Your coach reviews your conversations, check-ins, and progress to support your care.
- AI coaching. Your conversation history gives the AI context for its responses. We use Anthropic’s Claude model. Your conversations are not used to train AI models.
- Safety. We monitor for crisis indicators to connect you with emergency resources.
- Communication. Push notifications for coach messages and scheduled reminders.
- Service improvement. Aggregate, anonymized usage patterns to improve the product.
Who can see your data
- Your coach. Your assigned recovery coach can see your conversations, check-ins, worksheets, meeting attendance, and to-do list. This is the supervision model — it’s how your coach does their job well.
- The AI system. The AI coaching companion reads your conversation history and curriculum context to respond.
- OnTheBeam administrators. Platform administrators can access data for technical support and safety monitoring. All admin access is logged.
- No advertisers. No brokers. We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers. Ever.
Data security
- All data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest
- Authentication tokens are stored in device secure storage
- Optional biometric lock (Face ID / fingerprint) for app access
- Backend infrastructure (Convex) supports HIPAA compliance
- Audit logging tracks all data access
Data retention
- Your data is retained while your coaching relationship is active
- You can request data deletion through your coach or at privacy@getonthebeam.com
- On request, we remove your personal data within 30 days
- Anonymized aggregate data may be retained for service improvement
Your rights
- Access. Request a copy of your data.
- Correction. Update inaccurate information.
- Deletion. Request deletion of your account and data.
- Portability. Request your data in a portable format.

California residents (SB 243)
In compliance with California Senate Bill 243, we disclose that OnTheBeam uses artificial intelligence to provide coaching support between sessions. The AI coaching companion is not a human. All AI interactions are supervised by a certified human recovery coach.
Children’s privacy
OnTheBeam is not intended for individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from minors.
Crisis resources
OnTheBeam is not a substitute for emergency services. If you are in crisis:
